pf Sense is a registered trademark of Electric Sheep Fencing LLC pf Sense is used as a short form for pf Sense® software There are many sites that maintain and provide IP-blocking lists, some for free and some for a fee.The lists you'll want to use will depend upon what you're trying to achieve.(They're still adding features, so I'm gonna consider them "alpha quality"...ie: Expect bugs up the wazoo.) Suffice to say, PG2 is an example of how NOT to run a potential open source software project.
Because it’s super easy to use and configure and it’s not resource-hungry like some other one [someone said µTorrent for OS X? Luckly John Tyree, a user from quora.com, created a Git Hub project which combines all those i Blocklist lists in to a single one and he hosted the result here: add this URL in the Transmission preferences like this: and the application will do all the magic for you combining the lists and adding those IP rules to the built-in firewall.
In fact there are a ton of lists all for different purposes and no one will give you complete -peer protection since one will shield your client from spammers, one from the US Government [really? If you search on Google you will find people recommending this website, called i Blocklist, which collects various block lists but there are to many of them and they all have the same problem I said before: no complete 100% protection.
I suspect Peer Block is going to be more successful in the long run.
(Assuming they keep bringing regular releases and fix bugs in a timely manner)...
You have to have those programs for BLM to work its magic. that would be nice if it actually BLOCKED anything which it apparently doesnt..work, guys..
PG2/Peer Block on the other hand is a network tool which is used to block all connections to the internet, not just those originating from P2P apps. Protowall (Bluetack's answer to PG2) also uses the Bluetack lists and it too 'failed' 5 years ago. (yes i i updated lists, enabled it, all the obvious questions, I R not n00b) so to get away from the flaming and alternative proggy suggestions, does anyone actually have an answer to the OP's problem?
Looking for a nice and complete blocklist for Transmission can be a pain, especially if you’re not sure of which one to pick.
This works with all versions of Transmission and with all OSs.
Noticed 2 days ago that I cannot update the P2P list when trialing this program.
